Primary resources
The primary education pack provides a range of historical sources, lesson ideas and activities linked to Key Stages 1 and 2 through Literacy, History and Citizenship.
The materials have been developed from documents and photographs contained within The British Postal Museum & Archive (BPMA) and The City of Westminster Archives Centre (COWAC), unless otherwise stated.
The pack includes:
- Teachers' notes and information sheets
- Activity sheets for pupils
- Timeline
- Colour facsimile archive documents and photographs to support activities

- Primary soldiers’ stories
- Soldiers’ stories from The Royal Mail Archive. These can be used in addition to the primary education pack. This section also includes further information on the soldiers.
- Primary History
- Online versions of the information sheets from the primary education pack. There are links to the glossary and timeline, so pupils can do their own research
- This section is useful for setting pupils online research tasks within a limited online environment. No links from this section go outside the BPMA website
- Worksheet bank
- A selection of PDF worksheets that have not been included in the printed primary pack
