    The creator, artist, maker, publisher, producer, organisation or person related to or about the record or item.
    If you wish to center on a postcode on the map, please use the map search.
    Dates, date ranges and time periods. Word on date indexing is still ongoing, please try both a textual period and a numeric date. This search wil search all fields for both types of entry. Not all records currently have an exact date.
    Subject Keywords, nouns and categories relating to objects, items and records.

Registering for a reader account at BPMA

As a new online reader, you will in time be able to:

  • Create a wish-list of items
  • Save your searches
  • Use the secure messaging system to contact BPMA directly
  • Modify your details
  • Access downloadable content
  • Order items to view at BPMA

This change to our system is very much a work in progress and will develop over 2015.

In time our new online catalogue reader order module will allow full advance ordering of Royal Mail Archive material so that it is ready for you when you arrive at the Freeling House Search Room.

Currently, provided you register (using a simple form), you can save searches you have made and also compile ‘wish lists’ of material you are interested in.

Should you wish to try out this functionality we will be very grateful since it is only through real time use by researchers that we will work out how best to set up this part of the system and get our processes right so that things work as smoothly as possible for you.
