The Post Office in Pictures Greeting Cards Set 1
Price: £8.00
Overview
From original publicity photographs showing the postal service at work, this set of four black & white cards features photographs from The Royal Mail Archive. The photographs were originally commissioned as publicity material for the General Post Office in the 1930s… charmingly staged images from a bygone era, and ideal for getting in touch today.
The cards in the set are:
- Business man sending a telegram at Paddington Station while messenger boy waits, 1935
- Telegram messenger delivery boys on BSA Motorcycles, 1933
- Postman delivering mail at Great Yarmouth holiday camp, 1937
- King George VI Pillar Box, 1938
Each card (with envelope) also available separately. They measure 172×125 mm, and are blank inside for your own message.
You can view these images in our current photo exhibition The Post Office in Pictures at The Lumen in London from 19 May - 31 August 2012.
