Mail Rail: A Photographic Exhibition
BPMA Search Room, London
24 Jul 2013 onwards
For over 75 years from 1927 to 2003 Mail Rail ran under some of London’s most recognisable landmarks from Paddington to Whitechapel. Since then it has laid dormant, gathering dust beneath the feet of unknowing Londoners and tourists.
Through exceptional images by Jonathan Bradley Photography this exhibition provides a glimpse into the hidden, labyrinthine world of Mail Rail, bringing it back to life. The dynamic images capture snapshots of the network in its entirety, from the cold, dark tunnels to the underground stations and decaying vehicles as they were on the day service ceased in 2003.
